1. Scope and provider

This Policy applies only to the SnapExport app for iOS and iPadOS provided by Lin Zhang (“SnapExport” or the “App”). It explains data handling for media selection, original export, format conversion, result sharing, free conversion allowance, and Pro purchases.

It does not apply to other personal software projects documented by Xencero, or to Apple’s App Store, iCloud, Photos, the system share sheet, or third-party receiving apps you choose.

2. Media selection and on-device processing

SnapExport uses Apple’s system photo picker to process the photos, Live Photos, or videos you choose. Retrieving some originals and paired video resources may also require Photos library permission. The current system authorization level is read/write; the export flow uses it only to read selected media, not to scan unselected content or modify or delete originals. Where supported by the system, you may grant access only to selected photos.

Media type, dimensions, orientation, and necessary metadataChoose an output plan, estimate approximate size, and create resultsOn device
Thumbnails and temporary preview filesConfirm selections and inspect resultsMemory or a private temporary directory

Longest-side limits, target sizes, and approximate estimates are processed locally and affect only re-encoded photos. These settings do not rewrite original exports, which may retain existing location and other metadata. Check files before sharing.

Photos, videos, thumbnails, filenames, Photos asset identifiers, EXIF values, locations, and share destinations are not sent to Xencero servers. Media stored only in iCloud may be downloaded by Apple system services under Apple’s policies; this download does not upload media to Xencero.

3. Local storage and deletion

Export tasks, free-allowance state, and minimized history summaries remain on the device. Quality, JPEG recompression, longest side, target size, location, Live Photo sound, and HDR preferences are stored locally for later batches. Selected media and per-item consent to keep other originals are not saved as preferences. A long-term history summary may include time, counts, and total size, but not filenames, Photos identifiers, or thumbnails.

Completed outputs and a short-term result list containing recognizable output filenames have a 24-hour validity period so available results can be reopened, shared, or saved after an interruption. Expired name records and cache are cleaned during relevant reading, writing, or export flows, not by a guaranteed background timer. Name references expire independently of task-reconciliation records. Necessary task and allowance records may remain while reconciliation is incomplete, without retaining media names long term. You may clear temporary results sooner, and iOS may reclaim cache earlier. Single-item preview files are removed when their preview closes.

Uninstalling removes data in the app container; minimal allowance state in the device Keychain may remain. SnapExport does not modify or delete originals in Apple Photos. Copies saved to another app or file location are controlled by that app, file provider, or you.

4. Limited network use and trusted time

Free format conversion is measured in trusted rolling 24-hour periods. When a period needs confirmation, SnapExport may make a stateless HTTPS request to Xencero’s trusted-time endpoint. The request contains only ordinary connection information and the SnapExport version. It does not include photos, videos, thumbnails, filenames, locations, EXIF, share destinations, or the random installation identifier held on the device.

The endpoint returns current UTC time, a one-time random value, protocol version, and free allowance. It does not create an account or allowance profile and does not intentionally persist request content. Network and hosting infrastructure may still process standard connection information such as IP address and request time for transport and security. Such logging is configured to be disabled or minimized and retained only for the shortest period needed to protect the endpoint. A service provider processing this necessary connection information for Xencero may use it only to operate and secure the endpoint and must provide protection no less protective than described here.

If trusted time is unavailable, existing available allowance can still be used. When a new period cannot be confirmed accurately, originals remain exportable and items needing conversion remain selected for a later retry.

5. App Store purchases

Apple StoreKit and the App Store handle SnapExport Pro product information, price, currency, purchases, refunds, and purchase restoration. SnapExport reads product and entitlement verification results supplied by Apple but does not receive full payment-card information or your Apple Account password. Apple processes transaction and account information under its own privacy policies.

6. Analytics, advertising, and logs

SnapExport 1.2 does not include third-party advertising, behavior analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDKs and does not automatically upload product-usage events. Debug information and error categories remain local by default and must not include media content, filenames, Photos identifiers, EXIF, location, or share destinations.

7. Permissions, withdrawal, and your rights

  • You decide what the system picker provides and may remove selected items before export. Stop selecting media, cancel a task, or uninstall the App to stop future on-device processing.
  • You may change or revoke SnapExport’s Photos access in system settings. Without permission, the App tries resources supplied by the picker; some originals may require selecting again or granting access.
  • You may clear temporary outputs and view local history summaries. Uninstalling removes the App’s container data; SnapExport has no account or cloud media profile that needs separate closure.
  • To ask for access, explanation, correction, or deletion of personal information Xencero may process, or to withdraw related consent, use the contact details in this Policy. We may verify a request where necessary and respond under applicable law.
  • You may restore an eligible App Store purchase from the Pro page.
  • When contacting support, do not send private original media, identity documents, purchase passwords, or precise location information.

8. Children

SnapExport is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect information from children. It does not request age or identity details. Children should select media and make purchases with a guardian’s guidance.

9. Policy changes

If features, permissions, network use, or data handling change materially, we will update this page and its effective date. A new app documented by Xencero does not automatically change the scope of this Policy.
